Tactile Dinner Longview Gallery   Above: Tactile Dinner by Banished? Productions (Carmen Wong, dir.) Carmen Wong will be in residence at Play House this summer and fall for Tactile Dinner Detroit

Tonight, the Play House Presents… will kick off 2015 with physical theatre, dance, film, an amazing food-based performance extravaganza, and more fantastic music from the Bangla School of Music. Look out for our spring season announcement in February – here and at Power House Productions.

About Play House: Play House is a studio, rehearsal space, and small-scale performance venue bringing high-quality, experimental, and family-friendly programming to Banglatown, Detroit residents at little-to-know cost. Play House is a former derelict property situated just south of the Davison Freeway. Using funds from ArtPlace America, Power House Productions built a dynamic team to re-imagine and transform the residential space into an open-plan rehearsal and performance space for The Hinterlands. With two resident organizations (The Hinterlands and the Bangla School of Music), Play House is now an eccentric venue for cultural gatherings. The Hinterlands serves as managers and head curators of the performance series, booking workshops and small-scale events open to the neighborhood and beyond.

Play House programming and residencies this year is supported through generous funding by the NEA ArtWorks program and the Warhol Foundation
